Advice on our waxes
What is the difference between molded and containerized candle wax?
The mold wax is harder so that the candle will stand on its own. Container wax adheres better to the walls and melts more easily.
What is a melting point?
This is the temperature at which the wax changes from a solid to a liquid state.
How do I store my wax?
Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from light and in its tightly closed packaging.
What type of wax to choose?
The choice depends above all on your project:
- container wax for glass candles;
- mold wax for molded candles;
- low melting point wax for fondants;
- specific mixtures to improve diffusion and texture.
Why is my wax not blooming properly?
An unsuitable pouring temperature, too rapid cooling or a part that is too cold can change the final appearance.
How do I prevent my candle from hollowing?
To limit hollows and cracks:
- lightly preheat the container;
- respect the pouring temperature;
- let cool slowly, without draft;
- make a second pour if necessary.
Advice on our Fragrances
How much perfume to add to the wax?
The dosage depends on the wax and the fragrance. A proportion of between 6 and 10% is generally recommended.
At what temperature should I add the perfume?
Add it to the recommended temperature for your wax, then mix gently for two minutes.
Why doesn't my candle smell enough?
Check the dosage, incorporation temperature, rest time and the suitability between the wick, wax and container.
Are your perfumes IFRA certified, without CMR?
The regulatory information specific to each perfume is specified in its product sheet.
Are our perfumes compatible with all waxes?
The majority are, but a preliminary test remains essential to validate the rendering and distribution.
Can you mix perfume samples?
Yes, in small quantities and carefully noting the proportions so that you can reproduce your mixture.
Advice on our highlights & dyes
Which wick should I choose for my candle?
The diameter of the container, the type of wax, the fragrance and the coloring influence the choice of wick.
How to choose the right drill bit size?
Start with the diameter recommendation, then always perform a combustion test.
At what temperature should I add the coloring?
Add it to the melted wax so that it disperses evenly.
How much coloring to add to the wax?
Start with a very small amount, mix, then gradually adjust according to the desired shade.
Advice on our material & Manufacturing
How to create a first candle?
Prepare the wax, attach the wick, melt, scent then pour at the right temperature.
How to clean the equipment after use?
Wipe off the excess wax while still warm, then wash with a product suitable for the material.
What equipment is essential to get started?
An accurate scale, a thermometer, a melting pot, a blender, wicks and suitable containers.
Regulation
How do I make my SCIP declarations?
Consult the obligations applicable to your activity and the official declaration procedures.
What is the CLP regulation?
It governs the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
What standards for labeling my candles?
Labeling depends on the composition of the product and its regulatory classification.
What is a UFI number?
The UFI is a unique identifier allowing poison centers to quickly identify a mixture.
